Saint Vincent de Paul Society (SSVDP)

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did it for me.”     (Matthew 25:40)

Through the act of helping the poor, we are loving our Lord Jesus Christ and storing our treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

The mission of St. Vincent de Paul Society (SSVDP) at our parish is to assist all the parishioners to increase awareness and empathy to the needs of the “least ones”, and help them as required. We help many patients, students and other poor people, who are in desperate need of help, with the financial and physical support of our parishioners.

As of now, every year we help around 25 to 30 students in India, around 10 to 15 patients with serious diseases, two elderly people on their financial needs, and various other supports including helping the poor people who struggle without proper housing, and helping poor girls on their marriage. By God’s grace and through your generous support, we never had to turn down any eligible request received in the past.

Our activities also include various fundraising drives, blood donation drive, food sale, toys/religious items sale and other social outreach events. If you have any special celebrations in your family, please consider donating a small portion of it to us. If you personally know someone who is in desperate need of our help, please let us know, so that we, as a catholic community show our love and mercy to them. In doing so, you are doing a role in a smaller way similar to that of our Blessed Mother, who helped the family at the wedding in Cana.

Let us try to expand our activities further, with a spirit of increasing our love towards our Lord. Please continue to support the activities of SSVDP, to help the “least brothers” of our Lord Jesus.

Once again we thank each and every one of you for your support in the past years, and request to continue your support in the coming years.
