A Tale of Talents

A Tale of Talents

Earth Day

Nature is God’s gift. Everything from the smallest microorganism to the largest tree is God’s gift to us. Our job as children of God is to protect these treasures. In our modern world, there is a lack of respect for these treasures. Our Earth’s natural beauty is many times destroyed in order to make space for our industrial comforts. Ocean pollution, deforestation, and extinction of species are increasingly plaguing our Earth. The unregulated destruction of nature has detrimental effects on our future generations. Now,  more than ever, as Christians, it is especially important to work toward the protection of nature.

Pope Francis once said, “May the relationship between man and nature not be driven by greed, to manipulate and exploit, but may the divine harmony between beings and creation be conserved in the logic of respect and care.”

“May the relationship between man and nature not be driven by greed, to manipulate and exploit, but may the divine harmony between beings and creation be conserved in the logic of respect and care.”

Nature is a physical representation of God’ grace. Every little grass in the meadow is created by God for us. As we celebrate Earth Day this month, let us strive for the protection of nature and give thanks to God for providing us with such a beautiful universe.
