As Catholics, we can use the New Year season to reflect on our faith and to set spiritual goals for the coming year. We can use the occasion to reflect on the life and teachings of Jesus, and to recommit to following His example in the coming year. There are several ways to approach the New Year with a focus on faith. Denha is a Syriac word which means dawn or sunrise and is celebrated on January 6th. Denha is the manifestation of the Trinity which is revealed to us at the Baptism of Jesus. In Luke 3:22, we are shown, “and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” This is how the Holy Trinity is revealed to the world.
