ചങ്ങനാശ്ശേരി അതിരൂപതയിലെ വലിയ ഇടവകകളിൽ ഒന്നായ എടത്വ വിശുദ്ധ ഗീവർഗ്ഗീസിന്റെ നാമധേയത്തിലുള്ള പള്ളിയോടു ചേർന്നാണ് എന്റെ വീട്. ചരിത്രമുറങ്ങുന്ന ആ മണ്ണിൽ ജനിക്കാനും വളരെ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ആ ദേവാലയത്തോടു ചേർന്നു ജീവിക്കാനും സാധിച്ചത് എനിക്കു ലഭിച്ച വലിയ ദൈവാനുഗ്രഹമായി ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു. തമിഴ്നാട്ടിൽ നിന്നും തെലുങ്കാനയിൽ നിന്നും ഒക്കെ വളരെയേറെ വിശ്വാസികൾ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന എടത്വാ പെരുന്നാൾ ചരിത്രപ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്. തിരുന്നാളിനു വന്നുചേരുന്ന വിശ്വാസികൾക്ക് പരമ്പരാഗതമായി നേർച്ചയായി നൽകാറുള്ള എണ്ണ, കുപ്പികളിൽ നിറയ്ക്കുന്നതു മിഷൻ ലീഗ് എന്ന സംഘടനയിലെ കുട്ടികളാണെന്നും, ജോലി എല്ലാം കഴിഞ്ഞു വൈകുന്നേരം ആകുമ്പോൾ അവർക്കു മാത്രം ബോളിയും പരിപ്പുവടയും ബ്രൂ കാപ്പിയും ലഭിക്കുമെന്നും, തിരുന്നാളിന് ശേഷം എണ്ണ നിറയ്ക്കാൻ സഹായിച്ച മേൽ പറഞ്ഞ സംഘടനയിലെ കുട്ടികളുമായി പള്ളിയിൽ നിന്ന് എല്ലാ വർഷവും ടൂർ പോകുമെന്നും മറ്റുമുള്ള നിറം പിടിപ്പിച്ച കഥകൾ കേട്ടു വളർന്ന എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞു മനസ്സിൽ, എങ്ങനെയെങ്കിലും മിഷൻ ലീഗിൽ ചേരുകയെന്ന ആശ അങ്ങനെ മൊട്ടിട്ടു വന്നു. ആദ്യകുർബാന [...]
